City Hall Closure Plan

**CITY OF CLAWSON PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT**

CITY HALL CLOSURE PLAN – MOVING TO APPOINTMENT ONLY

Pursuant to MCL 333.2253 stating that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to constitute an epidemic in Michigan and under the authority in 2020 PA 238 and due to the overwhelming rise in COVID-19 case numbers, City Hall will be closed to the public starting Wednesday, November 18, 2020

Services will be operational as staff continue to work as they have done since the beginning of this pandemic.  However, we will now be working on an appointment only process through the end of January 2021 for all visitors to the City. We require that you call our offices to set up an appointment time to come into City Hall. This plan puts in place internal policies for Clawson employees to continue to follow to minimize health and safety risks, such as daily temperature screenings, enhanced cleaning practices, and the continuation of teleworking. Our plan also outlines the continued processes and procedures that the public will be asked to follow, such as wearing masks inside and staying at least six feet apart when at the counters during appointments. We highly encourage residents and business owners to utilize our online options for payments and permitting along with the use of the drop box located inside the vestibule so that both non-essential travel and human interaction can remain at a minimum.

This decision was based on the facts and to ensure that our staff can continue to work safely by continuing to provide you with exceptional service. We appreciate your patience with us as we continue to navigate through this.  We will be reassessing the closure of City Hall at the beginning of February. As things continue to evolve, we encourage residents to sign up for our notification system on our website (shown below) and to continue to stay tuned to the City’s social media pages and website for the most pertinent and accurate coverage.  This closure will not affect trash collection, water, wastewater functions, 911 or police, fire, and emergency medical services. Yard waste collection will continue through the last week of November as noted on our website.
