NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Please take notice that the City Council will hold a virtual Public Hearing during the Regular Meeting of the City of Clawson Council on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 7:30 PM on update to the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and Development Plan (“Plan”) for the City of Clawson Downtown Development Authority. Access information for the virtual meeting will be available on the city’s website, www.cityofclawson.com at least one week prior to the meeting.
The purpose of the Public Hearing on the update of the Tax Increment Financing is to receive comments on THE ADOPTION OF UPDATE TO THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN, AS AMENDED, FOR THE CITY OF CLAWSON DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (DDA) TO ALL INTERESTED PERSON IN THE CITY OF CLAWSON AND TAXING JURISDICTIONS WHOSE TAXES ARE SUBJECT TO CAPTURE BY THE DDA
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: that the Clawson City Council will consider the adoption of the update to the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and Development Plan, for the Downtown Development Authority of the City of Clawson pursuant to The Recodified Tax Increment Financing Act, Act 57 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 2018. The boundaries of the physical area that is the subject of the Downtown Development and TIF Plan update is shown within the shaded area on the map below and generally includes those properties fronting upon Main Street from Lincoln on the north to Tacoma on the south and those properties fronting upon 14 Mile Road from Maplegrove on the east to Washington on the west. There is no planned expansion of the DDA district.
No persons shall be displaced or need to be relocated as part of this Plan.
At the public hearing, all citizens, taxpayers, and property owners of the City of Clawson and all jurisdictions levying taxes subject to capture under the Plan desiring to address the City Council shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard in regard to the adoption the Plan. All aspects of the Plan will be open for discussion at the public hearing together with other information the City Council and/or DDA deems to be appropriate. The proposed update to the Plan impacts the proposed projects, budget, priorities, and goals for the DDA over the life of Plan. The update is proposed as a result of the public input that was collected during the 2020 DDA planning process.
Written comments will be accepted prior to the date and time of the meeting by mail to the City Clerk, 425 N. Main Street, Clawson, MI 48017 or at firstname.lastname@example.org and will be incorporated as part of the record. Minutes of the public hearing will be preserved and permanently available in the Office of the City Clerk.
A copy of the proposed update to the TIF and Development Plan is available on the City of Clawson website at www.cityofclawson.com and the Downtown Development Authority website at www.downtownclawson.com or at City Hall located at 425 N. Main Street, Clawson, MI 48017 during regular business hours, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Also, In accordance with the Recodified Tax Increment Financing Act, Act 57 of 2018, the Clawson Downtown Development Authority will hold an informational meeting for the purpose of informing the public of the goals and direction of the Authority including projects to be undertaken in the upcoming year.
The meeting will be held in conjunction with the regular DDA board meeting on Wednesday, November 18 at 8am that will be held virtually. Access information for the virtual meeting will be available on the DDA’s website at least one week prior to the meeting.
