Project:            2017 Bids for Barrier Free Counters

Sealed proposal labeled “2017 Bids for Barrier Free Counters” will be received by the City of Clawson, 425 N. Main Street, Clawson, Michigan until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at which time and place they will be publically opened and read.

Bid specifications and bid forms will be available starting Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the City of Clawson, City Clerk’s Office, 425 N. Main Street, Clawson, MI or online at www.cityofclawson.com.

The City of Clawson reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities, and accept any bid which it deems to be in the best interest of the city.

RECEIPT OF BIDS

The City of Clawson will receive sealed bids until 10:00 a.m., local time on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the offices of the City Clerk, City of Clawson, 425 North Main Street, Clawson, Michigan 48017, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The approximate quantities involved in this work are as follows:

Cleaning and Sealing Existing Joints and Random Cracks (Conc Pavt)                        54,000 Ft and related work as well as clean-up and restoration.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS

Plans and Specifications will be available on April 19, 2017. Copies may be secured at no cost via the offices of Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick, Inc. (AEW) by registering as a planholder with AEW over the phone at (586) 726-1234 and obtaining download instructions.

BID SECURITY

A certified check, bank draft or satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, payable to the City of Clawson, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid.

WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the receipt of bids. This time frame may be adjusted through mutual agreement between the Owner and Contractor.

AWARD OF CONTRACT

The City of Clawson will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder; however, the City reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, maintenance and guarantee, labor and material bonds and insurance certificates.

Bid Process:

A Public Notice for soliciting sealed competitive bids shall be published in a newspaper in general circulation in the city at least five days prior to the final date for submitting the bids. Such notice shall briefly state the specifications of the supplies, materials, service or equipment required and shall state the amount of surety to be submitted with the bid and the surety, if any, which is required to be given with the contract, and shall further state the time and place for filing and opening of bids and the general terms and conditions of the award of the contract.

The City of Clawson works with AEW Engineering who provides support for the bid process of any large project.  It is advised to check with their office for any current or future projects and bid documents or the Department of Public Works unless otherwise noted.
